Description

Built for comfort. Engineered for teamwork.

The Wainwright Siwash-Style Harness blends durability, adjustability, and everyday practicality for working dogs of all experience levels. Made from rugged nylon webbing with thoughtful padding in key contact points, it’s designed to stay secure and balanced—whether you’re training a single dog or working a seasoned brace team.

Originally developed through a collaboration with Wilczek Woodworks, this design incorporates their specific field-tested refinements and Wainwright’s finishing standards. The result is a harness that fits smoothly, releases easily, and resists shifting under load so your dog can pull confidently and comfortably.

Features

  • Dual-direction D-ring adjustment for precise fit

  • Forward girth attaches via padded side-release snaps for easy on/off

  • Extended neck padding for even pressure distribution

  • Shaft loops maintain balance and resist side slip during single-shaft work

  • Constructed from heavy-duty nylon webbing with foam, neoprene and plush padding

  • TRACES ARE INCLUDED (Extra traces available separately)

This harness requires a neck/yoke measurement for proper sizing. See measuring instructions.

Measuring Instructions

How to measure for the Siwash-Style Harness
Neck/Yoke (required):

• Measure from the point of sternum (aka Breastbone) to the center of the withers - this gives you half of the yoke measurement. [So if your dog measures 13" from the breastbone to the center of withers, they will wear a 26 harness.] We consider this the “yoke” of the harness.
• Keep the tape snug but not tight; it should lie flat against the coat without compressing the dog’s flesh.
• This is the single most important measurement required to size the harness correctly.

Girth (recommended for reference)
• Measure just behind the front legs around the deepest part of the chest.
• A consistent girth measurement helps confirm your dog’s proportions for the best fit.

Back length (optional)
• Measure from the withers (top of the shoulders) straight back along the spine to the point of the rump.
• This can help verify fit when ordering for unusually long or short-bodied breeds.

Tips
• Measure twice for accuracy.
• If your dog is between sizes, choose the larger size and note “between sizes” at checkout.
• For thick or fluffy coats, compress the coat lightly when measuring to approximate working fit.
• The harness will allow for micro-adjustments using its padded snaps and dual-direction D-ring once fitted.
